“we have a lot of robot announcements uh this week so let me let me continue on here next up is Neo's Gamma so you know listen I think this looks pretty damn cool I mean this is uh you know in terms of its motions now how stage this is and uh how practiced you know we don't see the 37,000 shots that went wrong but uh that looks like a pretty friendly home robot you know one of the questions I ask everybody is how many will you own you know I when I interviewed Elon and Brett's the CEO we'll see him in a minute CEO of of figure and of course Elon overseas Tesla and Tesla bot now called Optimus the projection is as many as 10 billion robots by 2024 and I can imagine that I have no problems imagining I would own uh you know two or three maybe 10 Sim no not you you you know my struggle with this I mean one robot moving very quickly is is the same as seven of them and again why does it have to look like a human being it would be much better with wheels and seven arms uh you making coffee at so so I strugg I think I think we I think I feel more comfortable having you know a humanoid robot walking around the house than some strange looking Contraption I think we're going to end up with the problem in the same way with virtual reality with the uncanny valley where it's very disconcerting I think we're going to have the same thing with human art robots for sure and like there sci-fi kind of uh is is underrated and showing us sometimes also the like the positive ways like um you know people will fall in love with their robots and they have these Androids now I think with short term uh we're going to have to we're going to see a lot of folks just uh remote controlling a robot collecting training data that way and so there's going to be an part of The Uncanny Valley is you may have someone in uh India or somewhere sitting looking into your entire home being able to navigate everything seeing your kids opening your doors and everything uh and you kind of have to be okay with that invasion of privacy potentially right um and then once they get good enough then they could be faster I mean they could put on like wheels and like you know shoes with wheels on and then you know and attach another arm if you really want them to uh you know they can be more modular that way so I'm I'm excited for it all right so that was Neo's Gamma from 1X T”

“if nothing changes at a minimum it should stabilize in terms of exponential adoption at some point and then the question is what are we measuring in well if we're measuring it in dollars it should at least go up 6 to 10% a year because we're adding six to ten percent more dollars every year right so if you do that math and basically assume that you know for the next 10 years it goes up by 20 to 25% because we're still getting the exponential adoption and then after that it basically starts to become slightly better liquidity than than equities because you can always create more equities right people create companies they can more shares right can't isue more Bitcoin so so Bitcoin should do better right so let's say it's 10 so you do that out for you know 20 years the numbers are astronomical”

“I remember um Ralph Merkel talking about this yeah and he said you should be able to build anything for about a dollar a pound yeah Ralph was one of our faculty members in the nanotech field at Singularity University in the early days brilliant guy more famous because I remember you know this but in one of the lectures somebody said are you Ralph Merkel from Merkel hasht trees and Merkel hash trees are the basis of Bitcoin yeah it's the one-way encryption and he goes yeah that was me but that was like you know decades ago so in the 1980s he conceived of Merkel hashes which then 30 years later so I actually did a session with him about about two years ago an interview I said where are we going with computation yes and goes oh I'm working on a paper that for thermodynamically reversible computation which means you take the heat out of the computation I said how do you get there he goes well if you do computation using molecular bonds to form the ones or zeros you essentially can read your right and then you don't generate any heat I'm like okay and what will that give us he goes oh 10 orders of magnitude on top of this the transistors per per square millimeter at least 10 extra zeros Mor laws another 10 orders of magnitude on just from that right and you're like okay in terms of a bridge to Quantum or whatever like this is so this is you know people get worried that we're running out of um uh computational capability and you talk to Ralph and it just goes so far past what you're thinking and and this is the this is where people kind of really lose their way they get so stuck on oh silicon chips can only deliver so much right and then you have to go to them and go listen we have PK coming which Tak widely abundant it's like a and and they're just working on how to scaling it and people forget that scaling things is an engineering problem not an invention problem yeah right and once you figure out the invention of it then the scaling is actually not that difficult you know it's like you know nothing can go past the steam engine nothing can”

“you if you think about what it takes to become an entrepreneur and I'm curious uh for those who are entrepreneurs You Know It uh you thrive on it I'm on my 26th or 27th company uh some really good ones some spectacular failures and everything in between but I think uh I would if I were to Rattle off the list of things first of all it requires uh passion or obsession with a a subject because it's not easy it's much easier just get a job and do what you're told so that's the first thing I think it requires a reasonably high risk tolerance because if you're really doing something on your own that hasn't been done before and you could lose it all and you're not sure where your next paycheck is coming which is some part of the early entrepreneurial Journey um risk is there a and then I think there's a a certain amount of self-confidence I would say uh having an understanding of the problem you want to solve and possibly not required an expertise you're bringing to the table because a true entrepreneur um will not ask how but who right as you've famously said they'll pull together a team what are the other elements that you think of an entrepreneur needs to have well I think the one that I've noticed because I am fascinated in people's history so whenever I meet an entrepreneur I said you know when you think about the entrepreneurial path which is definitely a fork in the road from you know from the way that most people think about their future when did you notice showing up if you had to go back to the earliest age that you were doing things different than your peer group was doing you were doing something different than them and you were you wanted to have a a direct relationship with the marketplace okay you didn't want a buffer of someone who guaranteed you income didn't guarantee you security you wanted to hit the marketplace so uh do you remember I mean I I I I do I do I remember uh I was High School I started a a snow removal service uh in my in uh between my house and my friend's house a few miles away we went door too and sold snow removal for 20 bucks a shot wow um that was good because that that would have been the late 70s I think yeah the problem was we had a record three- foot snowfall on one day and destroyed the business because I couldn't take care of it uh but but you know that was my my first uh effort but my real entrepreneurial Journey was my first year at MIT when I started a um a national international student space organization called students with exploration and development of space and it was this bold crazy Vision that actually came true and I was like wow this is cool and there's like this this element of surprise and Delight when you start a business and people and it was a nonprofit but uh and and it I got it I got hooked I got addicted Ed on the idea of an idea and creating something that people would participate how about you Dan what was yours well I grew up on a farm so uh farming is a very risky entrepreneurial business and our farm failed and um my father um recreated himself at age 60 as a landscaper and had his best he worked right till he was 82 and he had his best business year and he left uh um you know my mother um he died at 83 but he he worked full-time uh when he was um 82 and then he packed it in he packed it in he said I can't do it anymore and my feeling is that the day my father um wasn't doing business he didn't know what he who he was and yeah and he just he said I'm out of here you know uh and that that joy that you talk about the excitement and a lot of it is just the Applause I think Applause really keeps people in the game teamwork um deadlines um you know having to cre create new Solutions but you're doing it face to face with the marketplace so you know you're you're you're really getting the best kind of research for the development of what you're doing and it's check writers check writers are crucial and you want to be paid directly you don't want to go through a third party you don't want to have five levels of coming down to you and what I noticed just to finish this topic that it shows up very early I mean the the Instinct for it shows up um um where it's chosen I I think there are people who are forced into it because of the failure of a a large employer and that happens but I noticed the ones who start early um uh tend to create new things more than the people who are forced into it and um yeah and and you had a very uh divided U not only uh postgraduate but you had you were already added an undergraduate because you have your famous getting your Med medical degree yes it very true I mean when you're hooked as an entrepreneur you you love what you're doing and you're excited to jump out of bed in the morning and go and see what are the results of what I did yesterday and what can I do different today um you know Dan I think it'd be interesting to ask a question and and get your insights and I have a few to add of what don't people realize about entrepreneurship like what are some of the surprises uh that uh um if you haven't”

“ethereum is interesting because it has all of these applications that are live now um you know that there's three kind of killer apps that are already basically generating billions of dollars in Revenue so people who uh stake ethereum or process ethereum transactions actually make a lot of money okay and the money comes from three applications the first is defi right or decentralized Finance”

“in 20 years the highest market cap banks in the world will be based on defi rails”

“And that in fact, increasing human population is not a bad thing. And that the numbers today predict we're 8 billion today, we're going to hit 10 billion, but then have a very rapid decrease.”
